This is a site for our family and friends that will show our children's major milestones through their young lives. We will try to keep it updated as much as possible. Enjoy!

“Children make you want to start life over.” ~ Muhammad Ali

June 2010

So here's a few pictures since it's been awhile since i've written last. Things have been busy around here, as it always is. Our summer has flown by in the blink of an eye, and Austin has changed so much in the last few months. He's dancing all the time, starting to put two and three words together when he talks, starting to get interested in the potty, and even starting to throw little tantrums. His tantrums are funny, because he throws silent ones where he puts his head on the ground and gives me a look. When I see the look, I tell him to go sit in time out, and he usually does. He listens so well most of the time, and is turning out to be a well mannered, awesomely fun little boy.
He's learning a lot of new things right now and is so funny. He is currently learning shapes and colors, and loves to say triangle and circle, and then have me draw them over, and over, and over, and over again. Today he even learned what a rectangle is. I think so far, his favorite color is "oange". He also knows yellow, blue, green, pink, and "puple". I think he might be having some trouble saying his R's! Here's a picture of him coloring with some stencils from his Nana. One of his favorite things to do right now is to color in his coloring books with markers, crayons, and colored pencils. He prefers the markers, of course, and likes to draw on his hands!
Austin is crazy! He's one wild child. He's also one very sweet little boy. He loves to give hugs! He will randomly come up to Jared or I and say "Hug" and then give us a big one! He gives the best hugs ever. He really likes to give kisses, but only on his own terms.
Austin is finally figuring out how to climb up on to his swingset. So far, he loves it! He loves to slide down his slide, and is learning how to swing. He doesn't like to swing on the "baby" swing though, he wants to do it like the big kids do. I'm starting to call him Mr. Independent...or Booger.
Austin is continuing his picky eating. Recently, he had a fever of 104 for about two days, so we took him to the doctor. I knew there was nothing they could really do for him, so I was hesitant to take him, but he wasn't being himself. He would literally, lay his head on my lap and sit there for 30 minutes. If you've been around Austin lately, you know, that's not him. He's constantly up and going. He had a pretty nasty viral infection, and the doctor prescribed him ibuprofen around the clock, and ice cream, pudding, yogurt, etc. for meals. I couldn't get the kid to eat any of them! I asked him if he wanted Chocolate Ice Cream for dinner, and the entire trip back from the doctor's office, all I heard in the backseat was "chocoate ice ceam". I gave it to him, and he wouldn't even eat it! What kind of kid won't eat choclate ice cream for dinner??? Mine apparently! I did end up getting him to eat some of the pudding eventually, which he now calls ice cream.
One of my favorite pictures. I love this shot. So innocent. This little boy loves the movie Cars. When I say, loves it, it would be more accurate if I said he's obsessed with it. He brings me the dvd when he wants to watch it, and his favorite song right now is Sh-Boom by The Chords. He asks for the song constantly. He loves dancing to it, and we hear it at least 10 times a day, most of the time more.
Austin and I continue to go to the zoo about once a week. A few weeks ago, Grandma and Grandpa even tagged along. Austin is hesitant to try new things, but he let grandpa take him in to see the goats. He touched a donkey that day! Grandpa tried to take him on the carousel also, and he freaked out. Maybe next time we'll have more luck with the train! He loves the animals and thinks that every time we get in the car, we're going to to "an-im-als" as he says. He is even now saying, monkey, zebra, giraffe, cow, birdie, and a few others. He's getting so smart!
Freeze! Here's a picture of one of the few moments this child stops. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's normally for a sweet moment! I think he was trying to get me to blow bubbles with him here. Who knows! All I know right now, is I never imagined parenthood to be this fun and awesome.
