Well, things have been a bit hectic around here lately. And to be honest, I can't remember much about the last two weeks. We've all been fighting off colds lately, we've put our tree up, finished shopping and wrapped all of our presents. So far, Austin is pretty intrigued by the tree. We put most of it up just Jared and I while Austin was asleep for the night. He woke up to the house decorated the next morning. We left several ornaments out for him to put on the bottom of the tree, which he really just enjoys pulling them off the tree and trying to put them back on at this point. We wrapped all of our gifts this weekend, and now he's into carrying the gifts around the house. Hopefully the paper doesn't get too damaged on them. Oh well though. Part of the joy of Christmas is to see how amazed he is by things and how excited he gets. So far, it's been a pain, but a lot of fun to watch him..jpg)
This is Austin with his Santa hat on. He has a huge head as we all know, so we thought the oversized Santa hat would be cute on him. He didn't keep it on his head for our pictures though, which is a real shame. It was pretty cute!

I don't know where he thought he was going, but he was on a mission. My purse is heavy. I have no idea what's inside of it, but all I know is it probably weighs about 8 pounds or so. Austin helped himself to it off the chair and drug it around our living room for a long time the other day. It's amazing what he finds to entertain himself. It seems like sometimes his toys just don't cut it. So, he normally finds other things to do that keep him busy. And let me tell you, he's always busy!

Austin got to spend a lot of time with Grandma and Grandpa this weekend. I love that he's starting to not be so attached at the hip to me all the time. It always takes him awhile to warm up to new people and situations, but after awhile, it never fails. Instead of buying each other presents this year, Jared and I went out to dinner and a movie. It was great! We don't get to eat out a lot, let alone go out without Austin, so the break was nice. And it gave Grandma and Grandpa some alone time with Austin. On Sunday, Jared had another family photo session, so Austin spent part of Saturday, and part of Sunday with them. He loves taking books to people to read to him. You can even see him in the one picture among all the dogs. He loves the dogs too, but he really loves his books! There are many areas that Austin has just started to take off in during the last few days and weeks. His vocabulary sees to be expanding pretty rapidly (he seems to say kitty, dog, cake, book, get down, and hello are a few). He's also started to wave both hello and good-bye, hold a phone up to his ear, and a camera up to his eye (he must have picked that one up from his daddy), blow kisses with his hands, brush his hair with his hairbrush, and he'll even go get his shoes and socks sometimes if we ask him to. He's even becoming very proficient with using a spoon and a fork to feed himself instead of his hands. Now, maybe, he'll actually start to eat meat (I think i'm dreaming on that one!). It's amazing to watch him grow. It really is something new everyday.

Here's Austin with his first Lollipop. He wasn't too sure what to think about it as you can see. He did enjoy it for the very short amount of time that he had ahold of it though!
