Austin's First Tooth

Before lunch today Jared was letting Austin gnaw on his finger, and wouldn't you know, he felt his first tooth! Right now, you can only feel the jagged part of it, but it's definitely there on his bottom gum. I'm going to miss the gummy smile so much! There is just nothing more precious than that! We took his five month pictures today (shown above, and yes, we know, they are a bit late), and he had a great time trying to find his toes! It's amazing to see how something as small as fingers and toes can fascinate someone so much. Who needs toys, when you've got those amazing things attached?

It's official.....Austin has had his very first bad cold. He sounded terrible at the beginning of the week, but he's feeling much better. His cough was really deep and chesty, and his nose was dripping! At the beginning of the week, he was cranky and wanted to be held all the time. Today, he's rolling all over the floor from one side of the room to the next! I woke up this morning to him talking in his crib and blowing raspberries. I think he's finally starting to sleep a little better!

Austin Eats Pears!

Austin tried his first bite of pears today. We have slowly worked our way through all vegetables (Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Carrots, Sweet Peas, and Green Beans) and he loves them all! He's eaten Prunes this week and is now on to pears. He isn't too sure about the fruits so far, but I'm sure he will learn to love them. So far, he isn't a picky eater, and will literally try to eat just about anything you stick in his mouth. He loves oatmeal, and thinks that barley and rice cereal are okay. He's getting really good at rolling both ways and smiling. We are still waiting for the belly laugh as Jared calls it. He's just a bundle of joy so far, Austin that is. Although Jared is doing well also :)
